Aberdeen Office Hosts Cadets for Job Shadowing Event
October 22, 2018 - This year, Sigmatech hosted two cadets from the Freestate ChalleNGe Academy, which is a program based in Maryland to provide at-risk youth with academic, job skills and life skills training with emphasis on positive values in a structured environment that will give them hope and opportunity to become productive citizens. This is the 7th and 8th iteration of ChalleNGe academy job shadowing Sean Sullivan has hosted. This year Cadet Hao Ho and Cadet Ethan Gadson participated. They worked with the cadets to familiarize them with a professional corporate environment and helped them learn about government contracting. Some key activities and accomplishments included:
Both cadets will complete the resident program and transition to non-residential. Cadet Ho will enroll in community college and pursue enlisting as a combat medic in the Army National Guard programs. Cadet Gadson seeks a career in IT through an enlistment or officer training program in the US Air Force.
Sigmatech wishes the cadets success and plans are for Sean to host another cadet in the spring. Sean Director for Aberdeen Operations and Program manager for Gulfport-LS task.
