Aberdeen Office Recognized for Education Support
April 23, 2018 - The Harford County Education Foundation welcomed Sigmatech to the Rising Star Society. The Rising Star Society is an association of like-minded individuals who support local educational initiatives. “One third, or 12,000 of Harford County Public School Students reside in low income homes, and many of these children lack the essentials for learning,” stated Deborah Gavin Merlock, President of the Harford County Educational Foundation.
When accepting the award, Brian Simmons, Sigmatech Senior Vice-President of DC/APG Operations, said “As a member of the community in support of Aberdeen Proving Ground, we want to ensure that all Harford County Students are prepared for a successful future.” Sean Sullivan, Director of Aberdeen Operation, added “Low income students face many challenges, but this program can help bridge the gap by providing school supplies and technology to help students stay on track.”
The Harford County Education Foundation is a 501c3 nonprofit education foundation that recognizes the importance of quality education as it relates to the future residents of Harford County, Maryland.
